Acid & Base Cleaning Formulations
There are occasions when more docile and user-friendly cleaning methods are simply not sufficient and more aggressive methods must be employed. The formulations documented here are well known in the chemical community, the metal finishing industry and in the semiconductor processing industry. These industries all have an appreciation for the effectiveness of these methods while maintaining a healthy respect for their dangers and the need for proper precautions in their use.
CAUTION!
All of the methods discussed here can cause severe damage to the eyes, skin, mucous membranes and lungs. Extreme caution should be exercised when using these methods. These methods must be performed under a vented fume hood. The user must wear butyl gloves, eye protection, face shield, and a chemical apron.
