Detailed Product Description:
Vinella’s Reagent (not to be confused with Vilella’s Reagent), a mixture
comprised of Hydrofluoric Acid, Nitric Acid and Glycerol, is used by
metallographers or forensic scientists for etching aluminum alloys.
Applications:
Most commonly used for visual recovery of ground off stamped serial
numbers on aluminum engine or firearms parts.
Precautions:
This formulation is highly toxic. It contains a high content of hydrofluoric
acid. Read and understand all precautions stated in Material Safety Data
Sheet. Strong irritant to eyes and skin. Toxic by ingestion and inhalation.
Corrosive to skin and mucous membranes. Penetrates skin and attacks
bones. Keep HF antidote gel on hand in case of emergency contact.
