Detailed Product Description:
1,1,2-Trichloroethane, or 1,1,2-TCA, is an organochloride solvent.
It is a colorless, sweet-smelling liquid that does not dissolve in water,
but is soluble in most organic solvents. Non-flammable.
Grade/Purity:
This is Reagent Grade material with minimum purity of 96%.
Contains 2-Propanol as a stabilizer.
Applications:
A solvent for fats, oils, waxes, resins. It is also used as an intermediate
in the synthesis of 1,1-dichloroethane.
Background:

States. It is used mostly where 1,1-dichloroethene (vinylidene chloride) is
made.
Unlike its cousin, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, this compound does not have
A UV absorption band and therefore no photodegradation is expected.
It is also not listed as an ozone-depleting substance.
Precautions:
On contact with hot surfaces, this compound will break down to produce
hydrogen chloride and phosgene. 1,1,2-TCA is a central nervous system
